Last day of school and Graduation

As usual we ended the 2017-2018 school year with a bang. The weather cooperated for the annual black trash bag dish soap slip and slide fun, ice water bucket musical chairs, shaving cream fights, hair dying, popsicle eating and teacher vs student dodge ball. None of these events disappointed, and I believe the kids won dodge ball this year- much to the dismay of Mr. Andy who waits all year for this chance to win. Our new teachers this year tried to opt out with a polite "dodge ball isn't really my thing," but I think would all agree that they are "in it to win it" for next year.

There are always a few tearful goodbyes as some of our students leave for either new adventures in other schools or go off to high school. However, this year we say goodbye to two families who are taking their next adventures overseas. Goodbyes are tricky in a community like The New Classical Academy. We become a place where our classmates feel like family and each student is a vital part of their class.  The kids who leave will always be dearly missed in our community, because there is no way to be part of TNCA without being part of the family.

We graduated three eighth graders this year, all of whom have been an integral part of our school over the years. They have each chosen a path that best suits their needs, and we know they will flourish as they have been amply prepared to do so.

Our staff will reset this summer, and our students will continue to learn and grow during their time away from campus. When we meet back in the end of August, we will all be bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to take on another year and welcome new families.
