Inclement Weather Policy
The director of the school will determine by 8:00 am whether or not school will be open due to weather conditions or other circumstances. Once this decision is made, the director will email every family in the school to inform them. The decision will also be listed on WLOS-Ch 13. We will not always follow the city and county school systems.
We do not make up days during the school year. Our schedule has been crafted to allow for cancelled school days.
There is potential for classes to be dismissed in the middle of the school day. If this happens, parents will be contacted by email and phone to arrange for pick-up of their children.
Drop-off and Pick-Up
Drop-off for students in first through eighth grade begins at 8:30 am and ends at 9:00 am. Early drop-off is available beginning at 7:45 am. After 9:00 am, we ask that you walk your child into their classroom. Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students must be escorted to their classroom by a parent or guardian.
Pick up begins at 2:50 pm and ends at 3:10 pm. For unforeseen after-school care needs, drop-in care is available until 5:30 pm. Any child who has not been picked up by 3:15 pm will be considered an after-school drop-in. Please refer to our After-School Care page for more information.
Food and Drink
Every student must bring a lunch, snack, and water bottle to school every day. We do not have a refrigerator or microwave available for student use. We do not allow any candy or artificially sweetened drinks. The only drinks allowed are water, 100% fruit juice, and milk.
Uniforms and Dress Code
Uniforms are required Monday - Thursday. Shirts must have a collar, and denim is not allowed. Any pullover, sweater, or hoodie worn in the classroom must be uniform colors. Jackets and coats worn outside may be any color. We do not allow hats to be worn inside the building. Please refer to the Parent-Student Handbook for more detailed information about uniforms.
On Fridays, students may wear the clothing of their choice.
