TNCA RETURN TO CAMPUS PLAN

A message from Director Andy Cross….

Dear Families,

As we inch closer to the opening of school, I would like to communicate to you our current re-opening plans and procedures. The information below is an outline to aid community understanding and decision-making related to the upcoming school year. As plans are solidified, I will continue to provide more information and details, but I hope the description below allows families to begin planning for August 20th.

Please remember, all of our plans are based on current scientific data and community health situation. We must remain flexible and open to change as the pandemic continues to evolve.

By August 6th, I am asking each family to choose one of the following options for starting the school year. All options will be a one-month commitment with the exception of moving from in-school learning to 100% virtual learning. A family may move to 100% virtual learning at any time. TNCA may also move the school to 100% virtual learning if necessary. I want everyone to know that TNCA is working as a team to find how to best deliver our unique educational experience in the safest possible way. Things will be different and strange at first, but with everyone's cooperation we hope to keep school open all year long. Our focus is to proceed with caution, adapt as needed, and continually learn as a community how to serve our students.

The staff and I will continue to formalize our curriculum, procedures, and policies. Once complete, I will send out a final document detailing this information as well as an oath of responsibility and waiver for each family to sign.

If we all do our part, we are going to have a great school year.

Mr. Andy

The attendance options are:

            1) Attending full-day school at the school facility

            2) Participating in 100% online learning

            3) Attending school from 9am-12pm or 12pm -3pm

* The same tuition rate will be applied to all academic options.*

Option 1) Full time at school facility

  - Face masks covering the nose and mouth are required for all students and staff.

- All students will have their temperature checked upon arrival.

 - The only people allowed on campus will be school staff, students, and professional cleaners.

- Students will be organized into three main cohorts (K4/K, 1st - 4th, 5th - 8th).

- Students will be distanced in the classroom.

- Activities will be organized by cohort group and will be designed to minimize large group congregation.

 - Students will have assigned eating times and locations.

 Option 2) - Online learning

- Online learning will mimic our morning academic structure with support from staff.

 - Exact details of this experience are still in development as staff are currently discussing systems and procedures that enable delivery of a curriculum remotely while also maintaining an on-campus classroom. This may look different for each class.

- For TNCA Middle School, self motivated, independent workers with access to parental support will be the most successful during their time in online learning. In order to deliver the same outstanding education to our home learners, we need to hold them to the same high standards as our on-campus learners. More information for our virtual students will be available by Aug 6th.

Option 3 ) Hybrid / Half Day

- On campus for either the morning academic block from 9am-12pm or the more social, outside, hands-on portion from 12pm - 3pm.

- On campus portion will look like option 1.

- Off campus portion will look like a variation of option 2.
